Recycle agricultural film plastic

Dakota County is collecting waste agricultural plastic free of charge from Dakota County farmers.  This special collection program is intended to offer an environmentally-responsible option for disposal of agricultural plastic from silage bags, bunker covers and bale wraps. 

Place agricultural plastic in the clearly marked roll off dumpsters at:

  1. River Country Co-op, 14610 240th Street East, Miesville
  2. Central Farm Service, 4544 284th Street East, Randolph
  3. Donnelly farm, 20080 Flagstaff Avenue, Farmington
Agricultural Film Recycling

Bins at collection locations display a list of accepted materials.

Accepted agricultural plastic:
  • Silage bags
  • Bunker covers
  • Bale wraps
Not accepted:
  • Net wraps
  • Twine of any type
  • Tires, electronics, garbage, manure

Please cut plastic into manageable sizes, and remove all mud, gravel and dirt.

Burning and burying garbage causes pollution and poses health threats which is why it is illegal for County residents, including farmers, to burn or bury solid waste such as paper, plastic, cardboard, aerosols and other garbage.
Contract with a licensed hauler or take garbage to a local disposal facility.
